Pathway: HOME Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) Simulator
Open-Architecture based HIL simulator for use with xPC Target™.
Pathway’s Cheetah system can be used as a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulator for testing of embedded software. The Cheetah HIL simulator comes in a 19" rack mount chassis and can operate in indoor environment from 0 degC to 55 deg C. Cheetah HIL simulator fully supports the MATLAB/Simulink® modeling environment via xPC Target™ compatibility. The plant models developed in Simulink/SimMechanics/SimPowerSystems/SimHydraulics can run in real-time on a Cheetah HIL simulator box running xPC Target™. The I/O of Cheetah HIL simulator can be fully customized. The standard simulator chassis has space for five I/O cards. Additional I/O and custom signal conditioning, if required, can be added. SOFTWARE SUPPORTPathway provides software tools for configuration and control of the simulator hardware. If using the xPC Target™ real-time kernel from the MathWorks, TCP/IP connectivity is available between the host PC and the simulator for exercising the plant model, real-time monitoring and data logging. SYSTEM INTEGRATION In addition to the COTS components, it is possible to integrate hardware which is specific to your project into the HIL simulator. Pathway provides engineering services for the design and fabrication of custom electronics components and/or for system integration. The custom hardware components we develop include
